No One Is A Hypocrite

Updated: May 14

No One Is A Hypocrite

“Hypocrisy is the practice of pretending to be what one is not or to believe what one does not.” - Wikipedia

Can we let go of this word? Or, at the very least, be more cautious in its use? The term 'hypocrite,' when used as an absolute against individuals or groups, makes me cringe. And it’s not because I feel bad about someone being harshly labeled; it’s my body-being signalling that this thought contradicts the source energy flowing through me, through us.

In reality, no one is a hypocrite. In its truest sense, a hypocrite would be someone who, in full conscious awareness, acts contrary to their nature. But hey! One - in full conscious awareness, one cannot be anything but their nature. And two - who among us possesses such a level of conscious awareness?

Thus, in our world, hypocrites do not exist. We are bio-psycho-social beings navigating through a whole host of fears and insecurities, many lurking deep in our subconscious. And we overcome them moment by moment, expanding with each passing second. From this perspective, to label someone a hypocrite would imply that the person doing the labeling possesses a complete understanding of themselves, free from any follies, which is a rare if not impossible state. More often than not, the person pointing out hypocrisy might just need to become aware of their own perceptions and realize that their true desire for those they label is actually for more freedom and ease in being. Essentially, what they seek is to extend well-intended blessings not just to those individuals, but to humanity at large.

In this world, what we often label as hypocrisy may actually be a reflection of our own fears and perceptions, projected onto others. When I find myself identifying hypocrisy in someone, it prompts me to introspect. It leads me to question my own insecurities that are shaping my perceptions. Why am I perceiving ‘hypocrisy’ when there could be so much more to understand about the situation or the person? Are there other, more compassionate ways to interpret their actions? This realization opens up an opportunity for me to address my own insecurities with kindness and a willingness to grow from them.

Because in truth, what is, is only pure love that is finding its way through each one of us. At the core, everyone is guided by an intrinsic force of love, despite appearances or actions that might seem contrary.

This is so beautiful! An opportunity to introspect ourselves when we feel a certain way about others. But this happens when you’re vibrating in your highest frequency. Does that mean When you feel any negative emotion about something or someone, your vibrational frequency is lower? Aligning yourself helps you to become more compassionate towards self and others? Awareness is everything no? Disasters happen or a small thing escalates when you just go about feeding the way you feel without any introspection.

Yes ! Awareness is your best best friend.

Any negative emotion you become aware of is an immediate sign of your discomfort.

And your discomfort can tell you whether what you are noticing in the outside world is something you don’t align with OR it is something personal - like a problem with self. Either way, it is an opportunity to find out what you DO WANT and hence your way forward.

The key is to practice awareness and honest acknowledgment of your inner experience (in compassion) and then there is automatically a way forward 😃
